The Home Health Aide career is fast-growing profession with many opportunities for hire given the exploding aging population. Professional Nursing Placement Services, Inc., is looking to train caregivers to complement its nursing staff. We developed a thorough Training Curriculum to provide potential Home Health Aide candidates with the skills and knowledge required to become a private caregiver in a client’s home or in an Assisted Living Facility.
Who: People interested in caring for others
What: 60 hours of classroom material, 1 written final exam, 25 hours of supervised clinical experience to total 75 hours of experience.
When: Quarterly dates available
In addition to personal care assistance, Home Health Aides are able to supervise a client’s ADLs (Activities of Daily Living: helping clients safely move from bed to chair, preparing nutritious meals, assisting with bathroom and toileting needs, maintaining clean and safe home environment, cleaning and changing bed linens, reminding clients to take medicine, helping with range of motion exercises, and handling other caregiving tasks that enable clients to stay at home and thrive.)
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will earn a Home Health Aide Certificate, which qualifies them to work as a Home Health Aide for private agencies as well as in assisted living facilities.
Our HHA training program has been provided to organizations like the Irish Immigration Center of Boston, to train recent immigrants looking to work in the home care field. PNPS also offers this course bi-annually to communities in the greater Metro West region of Massachusetts.
